1. Occupational Health, Safety & Workers Compensation Officer
An exciting opportunity exists to join the Australian Council of Trade Unions team. The successful applicant will play a key role in the involvement of the ACTU and affiliated unions in harmonised OHS and workers compensation laws; particularly through the activities of Safe Work Australia.
Key responsibilities include:
- Assist the strategic direction and management of the OHS and Workers Compensation activities of the ACTU
- Assist in meeting the organisations contractual and reporting obligations in the area
- Provide advice and assistance to ACTU affiliates
- Represent the organisation in public, on relevant bodies and before parliamentary committees and enquiries
- Participate in relevant campaigns and negotiations
The successful applicant will have a strong commitment to the labour movement with relevant experience and/or qualifications in areas such as health and safety, workplace relations or social policy.
This position is funded by the Commonwealth through the Department of Education, Employment and Workplace Relations. The ACTU is an equal opportunity employer. The successful applicant will be an Australian resident and able to work in Australia.
