Keynote speaker: Karen Ackerman

Karen Ackerman has been active in the Labor Movement for more than 30 years. In 1997, she was appointed AFL-CIO Deputy Political Director and in the critical presidential election of November 2008, Ackerman directed the largest, broadest and most targeted political program in AFL-CIO history, helping to deliver historic wins for working families at every level – the White House, Congress,  and Governor’s offices and state legislatures across the country. Ackerman will share campaign experiences from the US, the tactics that took down George Bush and the fight for workers' rights.
