The pace of change in the economy over the past 15 years has been dramatic and the benefits have not been shared evenly.
Many people and regions have had too little support from government in coping with the fallout and effects of economic change.
The opening up of the economy has created winners and losers and Labor must be committed to ensuring people are not left behind.
Proper support programs are needed to assist employees affected by change access training opportunities and new employment.
