ACTU Congress 2003

In 2003, Congress was attended by nearly 1000 union delegates and focused on three main areas:
  • Policies relevant to the future of work (the escalation of casualisation and low paid jobs, work and family balance and the increase in long hours).
  • Building support for a fairer Australia to ensure taxes are used responsibly to ensure equal access to essential services such as Medicare, childcare and education.
  • The ongoing task of union renewal by reaching out to people through campaigns relevant to issues in the modern.
