Submission on Human Rights Bill
09.07.10 | Submission
We welcome the Human Rights (Parliamentary Scrutiny) Bill as an important step towards the better protection of human rights in Australia. However, we would like to suggest two ways of improving the Bill.

The conference focused on the way forward for unions in light of the harmonisation of OHS laws. It looked at lessons learnt, and how to translate that into responses to the possible harmonisation of Workers’ Compensation laws.

Submission on proposed Trans-Pacific Partnership Agreement
21.06.10 | Submission | International
While the ACTU acknowledges that the World Trade Organisation is in urgent need of comprehensive reform, we nonetheless believe Australia should pursue its trade objectives through multilateral rather than bilateral and regional agreements.

In this Post Budget Submission to the FWA Minimum Wage Panel the ACTU makes further submissions on the economic outlook for the Australian economy, based on the Treasury forecasts as updated by the Federal Budget 2010-11.

Submission on Paid Parental Leave Bill 2010
13.05.10 | Submission | Paid Parental Leave
We seek improvements to the scheme over time to achieve payment of superannuation, provision of paid paternity leave or secondary carer’s leave, 26 weeks paid parental leave, and employer ‘top up’ to full income replacement level.

Submission on Energy Efficiency
12.05.10 | Submission | Clean Energy Jobs
The intention of this submission is to outline how energy efficiency makes good environmental and economic sense as the economy transitions to a more sustainable, lower carbon future.

The downloadable content contains powerpoints, video and supporting documents from the conference workshops - making it vital information to move forward on organising.
The ACTU is seeking an increase to award minimum wages of $27 a week in its submission to the 2010 review by the Fair Work Australia Minimum Wage Panel.
The review panel’s papers on super structure and relating governance to choice raise a number of important issues for the superannuation industry and the millions of workers who depend on it to help deliver an adequate retirement income.
This submission is the second of three submissions reviewing the Governance, Efficiency, Structure and Operation of Australia's Superannuation System. This is the ACTU submission on Governance.

Model Occupational Health and Safety Legislation
10.11.09 | Submission | Health & Safety
The ACTU supports the establishment of harmonised national OHS laws but believes the laws should not result in a compromise or reduction of protections or standards for workers.

This submission proposes a holistic, balanced approach which incorporates a matrix of strategies to genuinely address equal opportunity in the workplace.
This submission is the first of three submissions reviewing the Governance, Efficiency, Structure and Operation of Australia's Superannuation System. This is the ACTU submission on Governance.
These submissions respond to exposure drafts released by the Commission in their Statement of 25.09.09. We also support CPSU submissions on state government administration and the LHMU with respect to restaurant and catering.
These submissions offer a number of proposed solutions to an ongoing problem impacting on the retirement savings of millions of Australians.
