Who is it for?
The Craft of Organising course is a two week (split) program designed for experienced organisers.
Aims
Craft was recently redeveloped to reflect the change in our organising practice but many of the features of the original course remain. This course is popular among organisers because it gives them an opportunity to reflect on their practice, refresh themselves with new ideas and share their experiences with other experienced organisers.
Learning outcomes
At the completion of the Craft of Organising course participants will:
Analyse the need to increase power in the union movement to achieve change
Consider the application of industry planning
Apply Target Selection to their organising work
Work in a campaign scenario to develop their planning skills
Apply organising techniques and frameworks to the scenario
Identify and develop workplace leaders using adult learning principles
Practice using meeting skills to activate members
Develop a collective bargaining strategy which includes the development of campaign activists
Analyse employer tactics and plan to overcome them
Devise organising strategies and tactics for our current industrial environment
