Discrimination and Harassment in the Workplace: A Course for Organisers

To provide organisers with information on the new discrimination provisions in the Fair Work Act.
To equip organisers with the skills and knowledge to deal with discrimination and harassment in the workplace.

Learning outcomes
At the end of the course, participants will be able to:

Identify behaviours that are unlawful under anti-discrimination laws, and under anti-discrimination provisions in industrial laws;
Identify the rights and responsibilities of employers, employees and union organisers under these laws;
Select the most appropriate law to use to get the best outcome for a member experiencing discrimination or harassment;
Assist members to pursue internal and external complaints about discrimination or harassment.
