New Rights at Work
From 1 January, all Australian workers will be protected by a new safety net of 10 National Employment Standards and modern awards.
These minimum standards cannot be taken away from anyone.
This is a major step forward for all Australian workers won after the Your Rights at Work campaign by unions. They come on top of better protection from unfair dismissal, rights to collectively bargain, and the abolition of Australian Workplace Agreement individual contracts.
