Industrial Officer - Club Manager's Association, Australia

CMAA is looking for a mature and experienced person to assist the Senior Industrial Advocate in the management of our Members’ industrial matters. 

Background

The Club Manager’s Association, Australia (CMAA) a federal employee association registered organisation under the Fair Work Act, is seeking a highly motivated, member focused individual with experience to be gained in organising, recruitment and representing individual Members in our trade union. The successful applicant will be committed to building the trade union movement.

The CMAA (Federal Office) covers Managerial staff employed in Club industry, and associated entities. The Union's membership includes CEO’s, Secretary Managers and other specialised Club Managers.

About the role

The successful candidate will initially be based at the CMAA Federal Office in Sydney. You will be assigned a mix of duties, including, as part of a small team, taking responsibility for the completion of general industrial relations matters, and administrative tasks or projects at the federal level and state-wide. You may be allocated to other member service-related tasks from time to time however primarily providing telephone and email advice to members on:

  • The fair work legislation, including the NES;
  • The Modern Registered & Licensed Clubs Award 2020 application and its terms and conditions;
  • Leave entitlements and superannuation; discipline, termination and redundancy requirements and obligations

The position is offered as a full-time, continuing appointment. It will be filled at a salaried level and offers a salary package commensurate with skills and experience.

Qualifications, Skills & Experience

Tertiary qualifications, preferably in an IR or law related field, or a minimum 5 years demonstrated work history experience in a related human resources field.

Excellent communication, presentation and interpersonal skills.

Experience in providing advice on a broad range of employment related matters and resolving disputes
