The National Tertiary Education Union covers staff employed in universities, associated companies, research institutes, TAFE, student unions and adult and community education. The Union’s membership includes Academic, General, Research and Professional staff.
NTEU is seeking three (3) highly motivated, member focused individuals with proven experience in recruitment and campaigning, either in a trade union or in social justice organisations. The successful applicants will be committed to building the trade union movement. The positions are full-time and are offered on a fixed-term contract basis for two years. Interstate travel may be required.
The successful candidates will work as part of a team focused on growing the union in under-represented areas of the higher education sector. You will be assigned a mix of duties, including taking responsibility for the completion of industrial, organising, campaign, and administrative tasks or projects.
The positions will be filled at NTEU Level 5 or 6 ($99,447 – $123,082 FTE), depending on skills and experience, plus 17% employer superannuation contributions. Terms and conditions for these positions are covered by a national collective agreement which has terms comparable with NTEU members in the industry.
