The Australian Workers' Union, the ACTU and Unions Tasmania were represented at yesterdays's commemoration event held in Beaconsfield near the former mine site.
The AWU National Secretary Scott McDine was in attendance as was Unions Tasmania Secretary Steve Walsh and ACTU Asssistant Secretary Michael Borowick.
Parliamentarians, including Shadow Industrial Relations Minister Hon. Michelle O'Byrne MHA, plus local government officials joined rescuers and members of the ambulance service and police force to remember Larry Knight ten years on from the disaster.
Larry Knight died following a rock fall whilst working one kilometre underground. Journalist Richard Carleton died whilst working covering the story.
