Supporting Women in Unions - Final Resolution

Congress notes the findings of the Women in Unions 2014 Report and endorses the recommendations.

In particular, Congress commits to:

    1. The affirmative action objective of at least 50-50 representation of women for all elected positions at the ACTU, and affiliates, acknowledging the need to better reflect the representation of women employees in the industry and the proportion of female membership of the union.
    2. Supporting and participating in an ACTU mentoring program to support women in the union movement to reach their potential and ensure the movement continues to grow and evolve.

Moved: Linda White, ASU

Seconded: Andrew Dettmer, AMWU
