Course Content

The course will cover topics relating to the planning, preparation and lodging of submission to Australian Parliamentary Inquiries. It will also cover appearances to give evidence before those inquiries. Participants will learn about following terms of reference, submission format, the ways to produce effective submissions and how to make the most of opportunities to appear before Parliamentary Committees. The course will also cover aligning participants’ submissions with media opportunities and other practical considerations. 

Key Learning Outcomes

At the end of the course participants will be able to:

·       Read and understand Terms of Reference for inquiries, including understanding when and how to follow them

·       Plan and produce effective submissions to Parliamentary Inquires based on their goals

·       Undertake effective appearances before Parliamentary Committees

Please ensure relevant approval has been granted by your union in accordance with its rules and elected official and note the cost of this course is $110.00 (GST inclusive) for the online course, and $220.00 (GST inclusive) for the in person courses.
