The National Tertiary Education Union (Victorian Division) covers members employed in universities, associated companies, research institutes, TAFE, student unions and adult and community education. The Union’s membership includes Academic, General, Research and Professional staff.
NTEU is seeking applications for a full-time Senior Industrial Officer located in the NTEU Victorian Division office in Southbank, although travel to all Victorian campuses may be required from time-to-time. The position is offered as an ongoing role and will be available from early June 2026.
As part of a Division team working with workplace branches, the successful applicant will be expected to:
- Lead the Division’s Industrial team and provide detailed strategic industrial advice to the Union.
- Prepare and/or advocate cases before the Fair Work Commission and other tribunals and Courts.
- Provide industrial advice to members, Branches and the Division on industrial matters and disputes.
- Negotiate workplace grievances/issues and industrial disputes with management.
- Provide high-level technical support and lead major Enterprise Bargaining negotiations.
This position will complement an established industrial team in the Victorian Division Office.
The position will be filled at NTEU Level 8 ($145,281 to $158,684 p.a.) depending on skills and experience, plus 17% employer superannuation contributions. Terms and conditions for this position are covered by a national collective agreement which has terms comparable with NTEU members in the industry.
