ACTU Congress 2024 awards will be presented at the Dinner for:

Andrew Casey Award for Excellence in all aspects of movement communications.

Jennie George Award to an outstanding contribution by a woman to our movement

Organiser of the Year Award for the outstanding organiser

Inaugural Tom McDonald Award in for an outstanding contribution to mentoring others.

ACTU Excellence in Work Health and Safety Award:
In 2024 the inaugural “Excellence in Work Health and Safety Award will be presented. This is an award that recognises outstanding achievements and commitment to securing a safe and healthy working environment for Australian workers. This accolade typically acknowledges individuals, union HSR committees, or teams that have demonstrated exceptional dedication, innovation, and effectiveness in implementing and promoting the right to a safe and healthy working environment in their organising and campaigning work.

Nomination Information:

To Nominate someone for an award, nominations need to include:

  1. Name of the Award Nominee
  2. Name of the Award that the nomination applies to
  3. Name of the nominating National union leader
  4. The Union including the nominee’s union branch
  5. Why the Nominee should receive the Award (maximum 750 words)

Where possible nominations should be supplemented with digital audio and visual content.

Should a nominee be selected by the selection panel as the recipient of an award, this video content may be shown at the conference dinner as part of the award presentation.

Nominations are to be submitted here no later than Friday 12 April 2024.
