ITUC launches Youth Community Blog

International - October 2, 2008

Brussels, 22 September 2008 (ITUC OnLine)

In the lead-up to the World Day for Decent Work on 7 October, the ITUC today officially launches its Youth Community Blog (YCB)  .  This blog gives the opportunity to find content from the Youth Committee members and from young trade unionists from ITUC affiliates around the world.

The aim of the YCB is to give a youth perspective to the ITUC’s areas of work and to provide a space for young people’s voices on trade union issues. This blog is an initiative of the Youth Committee. The contributors are the Youth Committee members, young leaders from the ITUC affiliates as well as special guests from friendly organizations.

The Youth Committee is an official body of the ITUC composed of 16 members representing Africa, America, Asia-Pacific and Europe. For more information about the ITUC youth activities or to contact the ITUC youth officer, please visit the young workers section of the ITUC website.

In the framework of the World Day for Decent Work (WDDW), organised on October 7, the youth community blog will focus from October to December on the theme decent work. For more information about decent work, please visit the WDDW website and the ITUC website.
