Membership Support Officer - Timber, Furnishing & Textiles Union
The Timber, Furnishing & Textiles Union is seeking a full-time experienced membership officer to assist our membership team and to work closely with our organisers. Situated in our Carlton based National office.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Reporting to the Membership Manager, the Membership Officer will:
- provide prompt and professional service to members
- maintain accurate membership records and data integrity
- process new memberships, resignations, suspensions and adjustments
- process membership dues, including direct debit, credit card, BPAY and other payment methods
- run payment processing cycles and follow up declined, missing or irregular payments
- communicate with members and employers about payment issues
- issue dues notices and other scheduled membership communications
- respond to membership enquiries by phone, email and mail
- assist with reports, data analysis, mail-outs and digital communications
- help improve systems, workflows and data quality
SELECTION CRITERIA
- strong attention to detail
- good customer service and communication skills
- the ability to manage workloads and meet deadlines
- sound Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel
- the ability to work well in a team and also work independently
- initiative and a willingness to learn
- experience with membership or database systems (IMIS desirable but not essential)
- an understanding of, or commitment to, trade union values is desirable
