The Transport Workers’ Union is one of the largest and most powerful unions in Australia representing transport workers and those who work in connection to the transport industry.

The New South Wales Branch is currently seeking an employee to work as a WHS & Education Administrator on a casual basis over 3-4 days, with flexibility. The position will be based in our Minchinbury office.

The TWU is an Approved Training Provider that has provide education and support to our members for over a decade. The TWU facilitates a suite of education packages such as Health and Safety Representative (HSR) training, Delegate training, Officials training, Entry Permit Holder training, and Governance training.

As the WHS & Education Administrator, your primary responsibility is to efficiently manage all aspects of training and education administration for the TWU. Working with an experienced and tight team, the role encompasses the handling of enrolments, printing training materials, archiving records, coordinating catering services, and ensuring the seamless execution of training sessions.

The WHS & Education Administrator is expected to:

  • Facilitate the enrolment process for union members into various training programs;
  • Maintain accurate records of participant information, including contact details and training history;
  • Coordinate with relevant members and TWU Officials to ensure timely communication regarding enrolment deadlines and requirements;
  • Oversee the printing and distribution of training materials such as training handbooks, handouts, and presentations;
  • Maintain an organised system for archiving training records, including attendance sheets, evaluations, and certification documents;
  • Ensure compliance with data protection regulations and union policies regarding the retention and disposal of training-related documents;
  • Provide logistical support for training events, including room setup, catering and on boarding members;
  • Serve as a point of contact for union members regarding training-related inquiries and support.
TO BE SUCCESSFUL YOU WILL HAVE:

  • A demonstrated commitment to union values and social justice;
  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously;
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with Officials and members;
  • Proficiency in computer applications such as Microsoft Office Suite and database management software;
  • Sound comprehension skills, with the ability to demonstrate initiative; Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment;A professional demeanour and professional presentation; and
  • Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced work environment.
