AMWU Seeks National Education Officer

The AMWU has a vacancy in its Melbourne National Office for a National Education Officer.

The AMWU delivers a substantial National Education Program for delegates, officials and members of the union, and we have a vacancy for the above position.

Applicants should be able to demonstrate

  • a commitment to unionism and / or progressive social change,
  • curriculum writing skills,
  • team development and mentoring skills,
  • communication skills, including internet and email skills,
  • a sound knowledge of the social, economic and political context facing
    unions,
  • course and session delivery skills,
  • sound knowledge of, or an ability to quickly learn, the objectives of key
    AMWU policies and campaigns, and the rationale behind them,
  • dispute handling skills,
  • a commitment to manufacturing workers.
  • An important element of this new program is the development of AMWU Member Educators.

    There will be a 3 month probation period attached to this position.
