AMWU Seeks National Education Officer

The AMWU has a vacancy in its Melbourne National Office for a National Education Officer.

The AMWU delivers a substantial National Education Program for delegates, officials and members of the union, and we have a vacancy for the above position.

Applicants should be able to demonstrate

a commitment to unionism and / or progressive social change,

curriculum writing skills,

team development and mentoring skills,

communication skills, including internet and email skills,

a sound knowledge of the social, economic and political context facing
unions,

course and session delivery skills,

sound knowledge of, or an ability to quickly learn, the objectives of key
AMWU policies and campaigns, and the rationale behind them,

dispute handling skills,

a commitment to manufacturing workers.

An important element of this new program is the development of AMWU Member Educators.

There will be a 3 month probation period attached to this position.
