Holocaust Memorial Day 2005

Media Release - January 27, 2005

On Holocaust Memorial Day 2005 the ACTU has expressed its deep sorrow for all the victims of the Holocaust and Nazi persecution.

ACTU President Sharan Burrow said today:

“Victims of the Holocaust and Nazi persecution included millions of Jews, Roma, East European civilians, Soviet prisoners of war, trade unionists, communists, disabled people, Jehovah’s Witnesses, lesbians, gay men and black Germans.

The ACTU affirms the determination of Australian unions to oppose racism and to continue to work towards building a fairer, more peaceful and tolerant world.”
