Integrate Health and Safety Or Perish ACTU Seminar 12-13 May 2004, Sydney. Registrations must be forwarded to the ACTU by 4 May 2004.

In May 2003, the ACTU organised the successful Reactivate Health and Safety at Work Seminar. The 2004 OHS Seminar will assist unions to integrate action for healthy and safe workplaces with other union activities.

The Seminar will provide a unique opportunity for representatives of unions to discuss how to engage their organisations in improving workplace health and
safety.

The Seminar Will Include Presentations By

  • Jerry Ellis, Chair of NOHSC
  • Peter Anderson, Director of Workplace Policy, ACCI
  • Professor Michael Quinlan, University of NSW
  • Speakers From Unions Will Cover:

  • Is the labour movement addressing OHS?
  • Who decides who is fit for work?
  • Why work longer and more intense hours?
  • There will be panels and workshops for discussion of issues raised, and of
    future action by unions.
