New Australian Workplace Laws T-Shirt Design Competition

Media Release - May 24, 2006

SA Unions in conjunction with Art in Working Life are running a t-shirt logo design competition. Designs are to focus on the message young people want to send to the community about the Howard Government’s IR laws.

It is nearly a year since the Howard Government gained power through the Senate to destroy our rights at work. To commemorate this and launch the next stage of the campaign, unions and community groups are participating in a community week of action from June 25 to July 1. The winning design will be used on T-shirts produced for that week.

Young people (under 26) are encouraged to enter designs that highlight their attitudes to the Howard Governments new IR laws.

1st prize $500
Highly Commended prizes will be awarded to three designs; each will receive a $50 art supply voucher.

Entries close Friday, 9 June.

Winners will be announced at the Brecknock Hotel, 401 King William St at 6pm on Friday 16 June during SA Unions Youth Week.

Entries should be submitted to Kayti Murphy at
