Vale Geoff Giudice

Media Release - November 18, 2021

The ACTU mourns the loss of and pays our deep respect to the former Fair Work Commission President Geoff Giudice.

Justice Giudice was appointed President of the Australian Industrial Relations Commission in 1997. He was appointed as the first President of Fair Work Commission in 2009 and led the Commission until his retirement in 2012.

Justice Giudice oversaw a significant period of change in the Australian industrial relations landscape and made a substantial contribution to the lives of working people in Australia, notably presiding over the full bench which handed down the Social and Community Services Sector Equal Remuneration Order in 2012.

We extend our thoughts and condolences to Justice Giudice’s family and friends.
