The Review’s term of reference and Preliminary Report focused specifically on the need to address the energy trilemma of delivering secure, reliable and affordable energy, whilst reducing Australia’s emissions. This included a consideration of the role of gas, recognising that technology is transforming the electricity sector, and the need for government to focus on growing sustainable jobs.
The ACTU’s submission requested that the Review specifically consider the social and economic impacts of this transition on working people, their families and regional communities and provided a copy of the ACTU’s Just Transition paper.
