CommInsure pleads guilty to 87 criminal charges, no threat of being shut down

CommBank’s insurance arm CommInsure has pled guilty to 87 criminal charges of ripping off life insurance customers but will only face a fine worth a fraction of the amount involved and be required to return the money to 30,000 impacted customers.

Unemployment, underemployment increase under Morrison

Unemployment is up 0.1 per cent to 5.3 per cent and underemployment has increased 0.2 per cent to 8.5 per cent. Around 1.1 million Australian workers are looking for additional hours that they cannot find, according to data released this morning by the ABS.

RBA downgrades economic growth, consumption continues to crash

The RBA has downgraded its expectations for GDP growth to 2.3 per cent this year and 2.6 per cent in the year to June next year. That is down from 2.4 per cent and 2.7 per cent respectively.
